Since we're smaller than most retirement communities, we're able to cater to your individual desires. There are no long corridors to walk, and most importantly, no impersonal reactions to your requests. We've created an environment where seniors can meet, make new friends and embrace life.

Whether you're enjoying a delicious ice cream treat in our soda shop, playing bridge in our cozy library, exercising with our professional fitness staff or listening to one of our guest speakers, you'll find a lifestyle that's stimulating, engaging, fulfilling... and fun!

Our Activities Department is a friendly and energetic group of people who'll make sure that any interests you have will quickly become a part of the busy calendar. In addition, every tenant of Oakton Arms is a member of the Maine Township Seniors and is an important part of the senior community of Des Plaines. As a result, the community often comes to Oakton Arms to run programs, or we join in their activities. In every sense, Oakton Arms is a place for staying involved, active and vital.

Dining at Oakton Arms is a continuous treat. Table decorations, cloth linens, stemware, and good company set the stage for mealtime enjoyment. There's always a selection on the menu that will meet your individual tastes. Special requests are attended to quickly - and with a smile. Our dietary staff loves to create theme nights and is always finding reasons to celebrate. And what's a celebration without delicious food to go with it?
